According to Bloomberg, Microsoft is aiming to boost the number of paying clients for its new services by expanding the availability of its Copilot AI assistant to smaller businesses and opening up the corporate version to individuals in this era of artificial intelligence.

According to an official statement from Redmond, the business is offering a $20 per month consumer edition of Copilot that gives users access to the most recent ChatGPT technology from OpenAI as well as image-creation tools.

Customers who have an Office Cloud subscription can use Copilot to generate content in Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as to help answer inquiries and summarise data.

The enterprise service of the Washington-based software company will no longer require a $300 membership, according to a Bloomberg report.

Even after the business revamped practically all of its products around OpenAI-based artificial intelligence technologies, Office products remain one of Microsoft’s greatest avenues for charging extra for artificial intelligence support.

Demand, according to executives, is particularly high; Azure Chief Scott Guthrie compared it to the lineups outside stores over thirty years ago to buy Windows 95 software.

Vice president of Microsoft Jared Spataro revealed that the Office-based copilot—now known as Copilot for Microsoft 365—has been in testing since March. As long as businesses bought at least 300 subscriptions, the corporation started offering it widely in November.

“The demand for a product like Copilot from Microsoft 365 that we are witnessing in the commercial arena is just unprecedented. We have had pressure from small and medium-sized enterprises asking, “Why won’t you let us buy this?,” like I have never seen before. So let’s give it a go,” he remarked.

Before CEO Satya Nadella’s speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he will be interviewed by Bloomberg, the business revealed the new services.

Although the interaction with Office sets Microsoft’s Copilot Pro-consumer service apart from OpenAI’s ChatGPT Plus, both products have comparable features at the same pricing, according to Spataro.

The business intends to release a building tool, akin to the one that OpenAI debuted last year, that will enable people to design their Copilots for a particular subject. This is a service that businesses may currently utilize.
