On Thursday, in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to dedicate and launch many development projects valued at over ₹19,100 crore. Subsequently, he will go to Jaipur to see French President Emmanuel Macron, who is the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the 173 km double line electrified section between New Khurja and New Rewari on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) on the first leg of his tour. This section features the world’s first one-kilometer double-line rail tunnel with high-rise electrification. Moving goods trains onto the DFC track, is anticipated to improve connectivity between the Eastern and Western DFCs and streamline passenger and freight train operations.

Additionally, to improve train connectivity from the nation’s capital to Southern, Western, and Eastern India, Prime Minister Modi will launch the fourth line, which will connect the Mathura – Palwal segment and the Chipiyana Buzurg – Dadri section. The opening of various major projects, such as the four-laning work Package-1 from Aligarh to Bhadwas, the enlargement of the Meerut to Karnal border via Shamli, and the four-laning of the Shamli-Muzaffarnagar section, will significantly improve the road sector.

Next, Prime Minister Modi will dedicate Indian Oil’s 255-kilometer, ₹700 crore Tundla-Gawaria Pipeline, which is intended to carry petroleum products effectively. Petroleum products will be easier to transfer from Tundla to the Barauni-Kanpur Pipeline’s Gawaria T-Point thanks to the pipeline project.

Commencing development projects in Bulandshahr is perceived as marking the beginning of PM Modi’s political campaign for the Lok Sabha elections of 2024.

After that, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Jaipur to greet French President Emmanuel Macron. The two leaders will tour a number of the city’s historically and culturally significant locations, such as the well-known Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal.

Macron follows François Hollande (2016), Nicolas Sarkozy (2008), Jacques Chirac (1998), Valery Giscard d’Estaing (1980), and Jacques Chirac as prime minister (1976) as the five French presidents to be the chief guest at India’s Republic Day.
