Ayodhya Ram Temple: 7-Day Consecration Rituals To Begin Today
Ayodhya Ram Temple: On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a BJP general secretary who joined LK Advani on his rath yatra in the 1990s, would lead the “pran pratishtha.”
The seven-day “Pran Pratishtha,” or consecration ceremony of the Ram temple, is planned to commence on Tuesday in Ayodhya, an Uttar Pradesh town on the banks of the Saryu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the big event on January 22, which will mark the culmination of the rites and be attended by hundreds of VVIP visitors.
In November 2019, the Supreme Court resolved the long-running dispute on the site, opening the door for the construction of the Ram temple.
Lal Krishna Advani, a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, set off on a rath yatra thirty-three years ago from Somnath, Gujarat, to construct the temple honoring Lord Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Narendra Modi, who is currently the prime minister, was one of the people who went with the then-BJP president.
“Narendra Modi will speak for all Indian citizens when he dedicates Lord Ram’s idol at the temple. In an article titled “Ram Mandir Nirman, Ek Divya Swapna Ki Purti,” which will be published in a special edition of Rashtradharma, a 76-year-old Hindi literary journal, Advani expressed his hope that this temple will inspire all Indians to emulate the virtues of Shri Ram.
In 1990, Prime Minister Modi played a pivotal role in coordinating the yatra as the Gujarat BJP’s general secretary. In 2020, thirty years afterward, he went to the Ram temple’s “bhoomi pujan.” This past Friday, Modi declared that he is starting an 11-day anushthan (special ritual) in preparation for the “Pran Pratishtha” event.
In preparation for the major celebration, complex Hindu rites will be performed for the following seven days.
The atonement ritual will be conducted on January 16 by the host designated by the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra. The “Dashvidh” bath will be held on the banks of the Saryu River, as was previously announced. There will be a Karmakuti Poojan and Prayaschita.
The Ram Lalla idol’s Parisar Pravesh is scheduled for January 17. On January 18, the rituals of Teerth Poojan, Jal Yatra, and Gandhadhivas will be celebrated.
The ceremonies of Aushadhadhivas, Kesaradhivas, and Ghritadhivas will take place early on January 19. The rite of Dhanyadhivas will happen later in the evening.
The Sharkaradhivas and Phaladhivas rites will be performed in the morning on January 20. There will be Pushpadhivas in the evening.
The Shaiyadhivas ceremony will occur in the evening on January 21st, while the Madhyadhivas ritual will occur in the morning.
