Unrestrained revelries surrounded the ‘pran pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the principal rites conducted by a small group of priests.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra website offers two distinct time slots for devotees who wish to receive darshan of Lord Ram Lalla: one morning session from 7 am to 11:30 am and another afternoon slot from 2 pm to 7 pm.

“Aarti” times are as follows: sandhya aarti at 7:30 p.m. and jagran/shringar at 6:30 a.m. Passes for the ‘aarti’ are available online and offline. The offline passes are provided at the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi camp office; a legitimate government identity document is required.

The Lord Rama ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony took place on Monday at 12:29 p.m. A seven-day ceremony began on January 16 as part of the ceremonial journey that preceded the major event.

People from all walks of life, including representatives of several native communities, attended the ceremony. Leaders of significant spiritual and religious groups were also invited to the ceremony of consecration.

380 feet long and 250 feet wide, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir was constructed in the classic Nagara style. It is supported by 44 doors and 392 pillars in all, rising 161 feet above the ground. The temple’s walls and pillars are adorned with finely carved representations of Hindu gods and goddesses.

The childlike Lord Ram is enthroned in the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Mandir, which is located on the ground floor.
