2024 Lok Sabha elections: Milind Deora joins Shiv Sena Party
2024 Lok Sabha elections: Milind Deora resigned from the Congress on Sunday and joined the Shiv Sena.
In an apparent reference to additional opposition inflow before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated on Sunday that the entrance of former Union Minister and Congress leader Milind Deora into his party was merely a trailer and that the whole image was still to come.
Speaking following Mr. Deora’s party announcement in front of many Shiv Sena leaders in Mumbai, Mr. Shinde said that he had completed an “operation” 1.5 years prior and that there was no need for sutures.
“I am not a medical professional. Even though I’m not a doctor, I had an operation 1.5 years ago, and it was successful without the need for stitches. I won’t elaborate further than this. “This is merely a teaser; the movie is not yet available,” he declared.
Mr. Shinde made comparisons between Milind Deora’s words on this particular occasion and his feelings that he went through 1.5 years ago when he broke off his relationship with Uddhav Thackeray, the then chief minister of Maharashtra.
“The emotions I experienced 1.5 years ago are the same as the ones you, Milind Deora, are experiencing right now. These circumstances occur when a choice needs to be taken, according to Mr. Shinde.
After leaving the Congress earlier in the day, Milind Deora joined the Shiv Sena on Sunday in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
The ruling party invited the former South Mumbai Lok Sabha MP to an afternoon ceremony at the chief minister’s official home, Varsha.
At the event, Mr. Deora commended Mr. Shinde’s vision for Mumbai and the state and reaffirmed his commitment to fortifying his leadership.
“To help him strengthen his hands even more, I’m accompanying him. Amit Shah, the home minister, and Prime Minister Modi each have goals for the nation. Through the Shiv Sena, I also want to strengthen their hands,” Mr. Deora stated.
The 55-year connection between the Maharashtra leader and the party, which dates back to his father Murli Deora, came to an end.
Milind Deora emphasized his dedication to Congress and stated that he stuck with the party during its most difficult decade.
“I have been receiving a lot of phone calls since morning that’s why I cut 55-year-old links of my family with Congress party…Throughout the party’s most difficult decade, I remained devoted to it. Regretfully, the Congress of today differs greatly from both the 1968 and 2004 Congresses. Eknath Shinde and I would not be here if talent, skill, and constructive and good proposals had been valued by Congress and UBT. Both Eknath Shinde and I had to make important decisions,” he remarked.
