We anticipate seeing all of the greatest upcoming phones on this frequently updated list.
Latest launch: Samsung Galaxy S24 series
The trio of Galaxy S phones from Samsung continues to be among the most well-liked models without an Apple logo. The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra feature even brighter AMOLED screens and the company’s first-ever on-device AI. Leading the pack, the Ultra ditches curved edges, gains a titanium frame to match the iPhone 15 Pro, and has an improved periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
Not quite as fortunate, the S24 and S24+ remain with well-known camera hardware and aluminium frames. However, some minor design adjustments, thinner bezels around the screen, and larger batteries are all good things. The more popular models in Europe are powered by Exynos, while only the US receives hardware from Qualcomm worldwide.

Apple iPhone 16 series
The one that will delight all Apple enthusiasts. Early September 2024 will most likely see the release of the iPhone 16 lineup, which will include several sizes and at least one Pro model. Other than the fact that Apple, like the rest of the phone industry, appears to be investing heavily in AI this year, not much information is available at this time.

Both a new iteration of iOS and new Apple silicon appear probable. Additionally, we’re hoping that the 5x telephoto lens from the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available on the more portable iPhone 16 Pro.
However, September 2024 seems a long way off at this point. The iPhone 15 lineup is the best available in Apple land right now:
Nothing Phone 3
Right now, Nothing’s third smartphone is just a whisper. The young company has invited people to an event at Mobile World Congress in February 2024, but the rumour mill suggests that we won’t likely see a phone unveiled at that time. Instead, we should expect an official confirmation of the device’s existence and perhaps some initial hardware information.
The new phone should be an entry-level model, maybe taking the place of Phone 1 in the lineup. In July, it will have been operational for two years. It will probably be another year before the more expensive Phone 2 needs to be upgraded. Images from patent filings appear to show a design that is strikingly similar to the current Nothing lineup, with a transparent rear and glyph lighting. Even the name is unclear; some have proposed Nothing Phone 3, while others believe Nothing 1a will be used.
For the foreseeable future, Nothing should continue to sell Phone 2, which is among the greatest mid-rangers available:
The Xiaomi 14 series
Xiaomi typically releases its next-generation smartphones in December, with the Chinese market getting access to them first, followed by a wider release in the spring of the following year. This pattern was broken in 2023 when the company unveiled its next generation smartphones in conjunction with chipmaker Qualcomm’s yearly Snapdragon Summit in October.
The cause? It’s one of the first phones to use the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, which offers amazing on-device AI intelligence along with enhanced performance, economy, and photographic brilliance. Naturally, China remained at the top of the list, and we’re keeping it there for the time being. The rest of the world is probably going to follow in early 2024.
The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro will be the two versions. Not yet any information on an even more expensive Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The Pro is expected to weigh less thanks to its titanium frame, which mimics the design of the iPhone 15. Both devices have screens with extremely bright 3000 nits peak brightness; the Xiaomi 14 has a 6.36-inch panel, while the Xiaomi 14 Pro has a 6.73-inch screen. The refresh rates on both are 120Hz. Both models feature three rear cameras, but the Pro’s variable aperture technology helps in low light. Leica has returned to assist as well. On top of Android 14, they run a fresh HyperOS skin. A global launch is anticipated in February.
You can still get one of the greatest phones available for taking pictures up until then: the Xiaomi 13 or Xiaomi 13 Pro.
The Honour Magic 6 Pro
Another upcoming smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor inside is the Honour Magic 6 Pro, which was confirmed at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit. With the help of that chip, it will introduce “Magic Capsule,” an information pill that tracks your eyes and appears to have been influenced by Apple’s Dynamic Island.
Although there are still no confirmed specifications (the phone isn’t expected to ship until February, at the latest), we’re betting that photography will continue to be a major feature. The two biggest rumours at the moment centre around a 1 inch main sensor and a potent telephoto. Currently available for less than RRP, the Magic 5 Pro remains one of the best phone cameras available.
